A large trade union that represents police officers in Spain has reported that officers from several police stations across the country are complaining of becoming involuntarily impaired by the strong smell of marijuana being stored in their small offices.

In a press release from The Trade Union of the Autonomous Police (USPAC), multiple complaints state that some police stations are filled with a strong smell of marijuana, so that, according to the union’s report, “the young men have the feeling that they are under the influence of having smoked something illegal”. The union is also worried that members of the public will become involuntarily intoxicated from the strong smell.

Union officials are demanding that secure, odor-proof outdoor storage containers be provided for the storage of seized marijuana at all police stations.
